Universal Mechanical
Infrastructure Framework
UMIP™ is an intelligence layer for the built world, a neutral reference layer for building infrastructure. It supports structured infrastructure identification and documentation continuity across complex, multi stakeholder environments.
UMIP™
UMIP™ (Universal Mechanical Infrastructure Platform) is a patent pending, non prescriptive infrastructure framework designed to conceptually operate above individual trades, systems, and implementations. UMIP is non prescriptive and does not certify installation quality, code compliance, or system performance. Specific protocols and governance are disclosed under NDA.
The platform establishes a consistent conceptual interface layer intended to support long-term coordination, access, and adaptability across modern building infrastructure, without prescribing how systems are designed, built, or configured.
A System Agnostic Infrastructure Interface Framework for the Built Environment
Public materials are intentionally high level. Detailed technical information is disclosed only under confidentiality.
The Problem
Modern buildings depend on increasingly complex mechanical systems, yet the infrastructure supporting those systems remains fragmented, inconsistent, and difficult to manage over time.
Across the AEC environments, each trade evolves independently, creating coordination gaps that compound risk, complicate inspection and documentation, and limit long-term flexibility for owners, insurers, and regulators.
These challenges are structural in nature. They are not driven by materials or engineering quality, but by the absence of a universal interface framework operating above individual systems.
What UMIP Is
UMIP™ addresses this gap at the conceptual level.
The platform is designed to provide a non-prescriptive interface framework that supports alignment across systems while remaining adaptable to diverse implementations, jurisdictions, and future technologies.
UMIP does not define system design, internal layouts, dimensions, materials, connection methods, or operational behavior. Specific implementations vary by application and are intentionally not described in public materials.
Who UMIP Engages With
UMIP works with institutional stakeholders across the built environment, including:
- Strategic partners
- Builders and developers
- Manufacturers and OEMs
- Insurers and inspectors
- Institutional owners
- Regulators and standards bodies
Engagement beyond high-level public information occurs through private, NDA-governed discussions.

UMIP™ is a voluntary, non regulatory infrastructure framework.
It does not function as a governing body, code authority, or regulatory standard.
UMIP engages selectively with institutional stakeholders regarding framework development, risk alignment, and potential collaboration.
